What Is ‘The Weekly Stranger’?

Over the past few months, I’ve met a variety of unique people.

I’ve met a Venezuelan man, who loves marine biology— but would be content to be a beach bum for the rest of his life.

I’ve met an Australian professional athlete who drafts and designs when he’s not racing with his team, and is adamantly against walking being an efficient form of transportation.

I’ve met an actor and lighting designer with a passion for Bertolt Brecht and a love of blues.

I’ve met conspiracy theorists and anarchists. Hippies who tout free-love, and the conservatives who hate them.

This got me to thinking: We meet so many random people on a day-to-day basis, but forget that each and every one of them have their own problems, dreams, and ambitions.

That depth you think you possess? Everyone else has it, too.

I want to take a moment each week and acknowledge that, to find the intrigue and beauty in the mundane of everyday life.

So, with this short post, I’m announcing the beginning of my new segment:

The Weekly Stranger
